Well the Liberty Lady Jays soccer team handily beat their semi-final opponent at the state championship game in St. Louis. Looks like we’re headed out tomorrow to photograph the game. You can follow the Lady Jays progress at our sister site. KCSCSports.net
Sounds kind of hard.. and it was. We (Marty, Danny and me) chased Union Pacific’s Steam Engine #844 into Kansas City from the west. I was sure fun to hear a real steam whistle blow again. We followed 844 into Union Station and got a few images from the “freight bridge” over the tracks. You can see more images in the galleries.
Marty and I spent some time after dark photographing the downtown skylines.
This first image is from one of our favorite locations, the Airline History Museum. I think the field light’s help make this image. We decided to go shoot, since this was the first time in a while that the sky was crystal clear. No haze at all.

This second image is taken from the Liberty Memorial of Union Station.
I really like these colors. You can view larger images at http://g.jbillings.net/index.php/Kansas-City-Skylines
Marty and I got a good surprise this week. We’re getting more and more recognition for our sports shooting. We been asked to shoot the Kansas v Missouri All-Star Challenge next week. But the even better news is that our good friend Jack Smith is getting a lifetime achievement award on Apr 8th.
My start to with a wordpress blog. I want to use this as the entrance to my website and as a directory to my nature images. I hope you enjoy what you see.
